Today's highlight is "Heart: The Lifetime Mandate of Kazuo
Inamori" by Kazuo Inamori
Kazuo Inamori was born in Kagoshima City in 1932, graduated from the
Faculty of Engineering at Kagoshima University, established Kyoto
Ceramics Co Ltd (now Kyocera) in April 1959, established Second
Electricity Planning Co Ltd in 1984 and became Chairman of JAL (now
Japan Airlines Co Ltd) in February 2010. In February 2010, he took
over as Chairman of JAL.
In 1984, he established the Kyoto Prize, an international award. He
also volunteered as the head of Moriwa Juku, which has 104 branch
schools (48 overseas) and over 14,000 young businessmen, and devoted
himself to nurturing management personnel.
What is the book about?
1. Kazuo Inamori was not born a saint of management
Mr. Inamori's life is a model of an ordinary man who, through
changing his "heart", has moved on to become a sage and reap the
benefits of a successful life. When he was forced by external
circumstances to change his self-interest, his life was brightened;
when he gained insight and began to take the initiative to harness
his mind and think and act in an altruistic direction, his life
entered a positive cycle; when he thought thoroughly and built an
altruistic When he thinks thoroughly and builds up a system of
altruistic philosophy that goes as far as the cosmological level, not
only does he achieve success in his own life, but he also becomes the
leader of many organisations and helps countless people on their way
to a happy life.
2. Thinking and acting with no less effort than anyone else, Mr.
Kazuo Inamori's magnificent life has formed the core of the book he
was so intent on writing. This is his solemn message to the world:
with altruism, gratitude, humility, contentment and strength of mind,
and by adhering to the right path, cultivating a good heart at all
times, and actively practising it, no one can fail to achieve the
happiness he or she desires.
3. Everything in life is a projection of your inner selfLooking back on more than eighty years of his life so far, and
recalling more than half a century as a businessman, there is
basically only one thing that Inamori wants to tell everyone and to
stay in this world, and that is "all success comes down to altruism".
Everything that happens in life is drawn from within oneself. Just as
a film projector projects images onto a screen, the scenes portrayed
within are reproduced in life as they are.
This is the absolute law that drives this world, the truth that
drives the operation of everything, without exception. So, what is
portrayed in the mind? What kind of thoughts do you hold? What is the
attitude towards life? These are the most important factors that
determine life. This is neither mindfulness on paper, nor is it
merely a sermon on life. The mind shapes reality and the mind drives
reality.
5. If you think it's "possible" in an instant, it's possible
The difference between a successful person and a non-successful
person is only a hair's breadth. The key is to be able to say to
yourself "I can do it" and take the first step at that moment when
you encounter a huge obstacle that you have never seen before, like a
wall, and to think "I can do it if it's me".
"I don't think I can make it over", and at this point, the slightest
hesitation or hesitation can make the legs and feet go limp and make
the climb impossible. Even afterwards, desperately trying to cheer
yourself up: "No, I should be able to cross over!" It's only a
horse's back. It's just one step away from a very different fate. So,
first of all, you have to believe firmly that you "can do it" and
that a bright future will come. At the same time, you have to
confront the barrier of difficulty head on, without getting
discouraged, without giving up, and confront it head on.
As we continue to move forward with such a strong mind, we gradually
see paths that were previously completely invisible to us, sort out
the clues needed to achieve success, and before we know it, success
that once seemed so far away becomes within our reach.
There is a lot to be said in this book and a few words are not enough
to capture the essence of the book, for more information please read
